Dr. Nancy Snyderman,

The wonderful Dr. Nancy Snyderman, the Chief Medical Editor of NBC News, joined me on Mondays With Marlo. We got to cover lots of topics, including how women can keep their hearts healthy.
The first step is preventing heart disease, Dr. Snyderman said. Not smoking is one of the best things you can do for heart health, so if you're currently lighting up, it's time to get help and quit. Be aware of your weight and waist size: a 35-inch or larger waist is a cause for concern. Knowing your family's health history is important too, said Dr. Snyderman. If heart disease runs in your family, you might be at greater risk.
Finally, Dr. Snyderman stressed the importance of women knowing the signs of heart disease, since they're often different than what men experience. If you're feeling exhausted, can't catch your breath, or have an upset stomach, call your doctor. Taking a baby aspirin daily might be beneficial as well. It will thin your blood and might reduce your risk of blood clots.

Reading on My Kindle ~

'Three Cups of Tea' by Greg Mortenson and David Oliver Relin
'Three Cups of Tea' by Greg Mortenson and David Oliver RelinPenguin
Three Cups of Tea by Greg Mortenson and David Oliver Relin is the true story of Mortenson's work building schools in remote villages in Pakistan. Mortenson moves from a lost climber who promises a school to one small village to a major player in promoting peace through education in Pakistan and Afghanistan. His story is too crazy to be made up. Three Cups of Tea is good reading for anyone who wants to understand more about Central Asia and be inspired by what one humble person can do.

Road Not Taken ~

“The Road Not Taken

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.”
Robert Frost

fulfilled my dream!

My first grandson will be
Truly Heaven Sent,
I am waiting oh so patiently
For you are in my dreams.
I held you close to my heart last night
still, just in a dream.
And I said a prayer of thanks for your
dear birthmother
For she CAN fulfilled my dream!

one thousand gifts

Just like you, Ann Voskamp hungers to live her one life well. Forget the bucket lists that have us escaping our everyday lives for exotic experiences. 'How, ' Ann wondered, 'do we find joy in the midst of deadlines, debt, drama, and daily duties? What does the Christ-life really look like when your days are gritty, long---and sometimes even dark? How is God even here?' In One Thousand Gifts, Ann invites you to embrace everyday blessings and embark on the transformative spiritual discipline of chronicling God's gifts. It's only in this expressing of gratitude for the life we already have, we discover the life we've always wanted ... a life we can take, give thanks for, and break for others. We come to feel and know the impossible right down in our bones: we are wildly loved --- by God. Let Ann's beautiful, heart-aching stories of the everyday give you a way of seeing that opens your eyes to ordinary amazing grace, a way of being present to God that makes you deeply happy, and a way of living that is finally fully alive. Come live the best dare of all ~

Poem By. Pablo Neruda

I Do Not Love You Except Because I Love You

I do not love you except because I love you;
I go from loving to not loving you,
From waiting to not waiting for you
My heart moves from cold to fire.

I love you only because it's you the one I love;
I hate you deeply, and hating you
Bend to you, and the measure of my changing love for you
Is that I do not see you but love you blindly.

Maybe January light will consume
My heart with its cruel
Ray, stealing my key to true calm.

In this part of the story I am the one who
Dies, the only one, and I will die of love because I love you,
Because I love you, Love, in fire and blood.

Visit at Scottish Rite Hospital in Altanta , Georgia

Please say a prayer for Aliyah today ! I wanted to post this because I believe in prayer and so many of our friends are believer and prayer partners ! God hears our hearts cry and needs . Psalm 61 Hear my cry , O God , attend to my prayers Amen . Jesus YOU are the healer and a friend . Oh , I need you !
She has a kidney infection, but blood tests showed she had postive pathogens in her blood stream that, if not treated could lead to her ...kidneys ( because she has kidney reflux already ). Which is a loose closing and opening in the urethra that has a potential for urine to flow back into the kidneys : ( She's taking interveneous antibiotics at Scottish Rite for 5 days. And just can't release her until they have given the proper dose for it ! Please say a prayer for Marlie , she is having a hard time with all of this .

I have no fear !

That he is very near ~

White Rose ~

White Rose by Walter Poe
In the storm
Stands the white rose
tumultuous waves
of destruction abound her

Yet tall is the white rose
strong in the face
Of the sensed doom around her
And she does not bow down

Pure is the white rose
In the compost earth
growing eternal strength
in the nights that so hurt

I see not the white rose
She is so far away
But I long to protect her
But only the words can I say

So I send her my words
And my poets heart
To help her when
there is hope to see her through

Be Strong little flower
Your heart will guide true
And as long as you want
I will always talk to you

The mystery of God ~

God is truly man's best friend on this earth. No one loves like He. No one cares like He. He is patient and true and waits with open arms for us to return to Him in truth. God is also the greatest mystery. We believe that he is all powerful and capable of doing anything and yet there is suffering in the world. On the other hand there is an inherent goodness in mankind which seems to echo God's goodness. We look up to him in gratefulness, and shake our fists at Him in anger. He fills the world and yet the world is not his place. The mystery of God. I need you God forever ~

How I feel tonight ~

How I feel tonight

This is how I feel as I lie here tonight,
Why do I feel it?
So many reasons inside.
I’m lonely because I’m lost,
Lost because I’m confused,
Confused because I’m scared,
Scared because I’m hurting,
Hurting because I’m fearful,
Fearful because of the pain.
But why the pain?
Is it because I love too much?
Or is it caused by trust?
I will never know the answer
As this tear washes it away.

"Come to me ,all you who labor , and are burdened "...

  1. Watch, O Lord, with those who wake, or watch, or weep tonight,
and give Your Angels and Saints charge over those who sleep.
Tend Your sick ones, O Lord Christ.
    Rest Your weary ones.
    Bless Your dying ones.
    Soothe Your suffering ones.
    Pity Your afflicted ones.
    Shield Your joyous ones.
And all for Your love's sake. Amen.

These two prayers suggest a similar need for our Lord’s vigilance:
Be present, O Lord, and protect us through the silent hours of this night, that we who are wearied with the work and changes of this fleeting world, may rest upon Thy eternal changelessness. Amen.
O Lord Jesus Christ, Whose unwearied eye neither slumbers nor sleeps, but continually watches in defense of thy servants; take me and mine, I beseech thee, into thy protection, and grant, that whilst my body is asleep, my soul may be awake to Thee, and that I may hereafter behold Thee in that blessed and heavenly country, where thou, with the Father and the Holy Ghost, rulest eternally, and where all the angels, with the blessed saints, are citizens forever.
The first two of these three prayers remind us that our Lord Himself invited those who are weary to “Come to me, all you who labor, and are burdened and I will give you rest” (Matt 11:28-30).
Touching on the references to eternity in the second and third prayer, we can also derive great comfort from knowing that Christ’s own death upon a cross couldn’t separate us from Him, for as he said after His resurrection “I am with you always” (Matt 28:20).
Indeed, all three of these prayers for protection bring to mind a wonderful passage from Psalm 121, meant originally to reassure those on arduous journeys that God was watching over them: “Behold, He will neither slumber nor sleep who guards Israel…the Lord shall guard your coming and going, henceforth and forever” (Ps 121:4, 8). This comforting thought can help us sleep better at night!
Give Aliyah , Cheryl , Mommy and Daddy rest tonight ~
