Gifts ~

“Our shadows hold the essence of who we are. They hold our most treasured gifts. By facing these aspects of ourselves, we become free to experience our glorious totality: the good and the bad, the dark and the light. It is by embracing all of who we are that we earn the freedom to choose what we do in this world. As long as we keep hiding, masqerading, and projecting [the negative messages we hide] inside us, we have no freedom to be and no freedom to choose.”

March ~

Gold ~

“All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.

From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king.”

Mystery Woman ~

Mystery Woman

She's a woman of mystery
with a deep seated soul
You may try to understand her,
but you'll never know
She likes Deepok Chopra
and girls' night out
She may get angry, but
she'll never pout
She'll show you she's witty, honest,
funny and fun
But, try to pin her down and
like a cougar, she'll run
A corporate gal now helping
others find employment
She listens to music for centering
rather than enjoyment
She keeps her heart in the closet
where it's safe and secure
It'll peep out for a moment
but not for long be sure
She's strong both in mind
and spirit
She’ll admit she’s fragile, but
you’ll never hear it.
She’s loving in her strength, but
you may not see it
She’s kind in nature but
may never free it
Rational and sensible is what
she displays to the world
Her true emotions are hidden as
they’re twisted and twirled
She’s running from something,
but she’ll never tell
She’ll convince you she’s happy
when she feels like hell
She’s my friend, I like her,
but I’ll never know
The true Rokeyai, and the
depths of her soul.

The Gypsy Violin

The Gypsy Violin

by Munda The compelling violin lures
With an irresistible yearn
Dance, dance, please dance for me
I can no longer adjourn!

Ethereal notes float from its strings
Caressing like a lover's hand
Sensual music, Angel's touch
Leading the way to wonderland

Embracing with utter delight
Craving, beckoning me
Tempting my lonely heart
Dance, dance on my melody!

Faster, faster the music escapes
Without compassion to body or soul
Seducer of lonely hearts
Until dancing is my only goal

Faces gyrate while I dance on passion
Flashes of fire in the corner of my eyes
The violin plays like never before
Until I become one and loneliness dies

With a final cry and a final touch
The violin stops, the music ends
Leaving behind an emptiness
We'll meet again, my violin friend

She Walks In Beauty

By Lord Byron (George Gordon) 1788–1824 Lord Byron (George Gordon)
She walks in beauty, like the night
   Of cloudless climes and starry skies;
And all that’s best of dark and bright
   Meet in her aspect and her eyes;
Thus mellowed to that tender light
Which heaven to gaudy day denies.

One shade the more, one ray the less,
Had half impaired the nameless grace
Which waves in every raven tress,
   Or softly lightens o’er her face;
Where thoughts serenely sweet express,
How pure, how dear their dwelling-place.

And on that cheek, and o’er that brow,
So soft, so calm, yet eloquent,
The smiles that win, the tints that glow,
But tell of days in goodness spent,
A mind at peace with all below,
A heart whose love is innocent!

Hands ~

There is nothing these hands can hold worth having. They cannot hold the moonlight, or the melody of a song, or even the beauty of a woman. They can touch her face, but not her beauty. Only the heart can hold such things.” ― Adam Bagdasarian, Forgotten Fire

Psalms

  1. Have mercy upon me, O God , according to your mercy; according to the multitude of your compassions blot out my transgressions.Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.For I acknowledge my transgressions, and my sin is continually before me.Against you, you only have I sinned, and have done evil in your eyes; so that you are just, in your sentence, you are clear in your judgement.Behold I was shaped in iniquity, and in sin did my mother conceive me.Behold you desire truth in the reins, and in the hidden part you make me to know wisdom. You shall purge me with hyssop that I may be clean; you shall wash me that I may be whiter than snow. You shall make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which you have broken may exult.Hide your face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.Create in me a clean heart, O God , and renew a right spirit within me.Cast me not away from your presence, and take not your spirit of holiness from me.Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and let a willing spirit support me.I will teach transgressors your ways, and sinners shall be converted to you.Deliver me from deeds of blood, O god, you god of my salvation; and my tongue shall celebrate your justice.O Lord , open you my lips, and my mouth shall show forth your praise. For you are not delighted with sacrifice, else would I give it; you have no pleasure in burnt-offering.The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and a contrite heart, O God  you will not despise.Do good in your good pleasure to Zion .

Everything ~

“I believe that the heartbeat of God can be felt in everything. The concept of God is not aloof to me, nor is it difficult for me to grasp! When I see the tender embrace of a father, I see God; when I breathe, I breathe God, He moves inside my lungs! I am not without God, because God is in everything!” ―

...glimpse

I imagine our first glimpse of Heaven will cause us to gasp in amazement and delight. That first gasp will likely be followed by many more as we continually encounter new sights in that endlessly wonderful place.

You Should Know ~

You Should Know

I don't know how to say this,
but I thank you very much
for always being there for me
your gentle, friendly touch

You helped me to get better
and stop what I regret
you helped me through the hard times
that, I can't forget.
thank you.

You listened to my problems
in a kind and caring way
and without you
I may not be smiling today
thank you.

I trust you with my secrets
that no one has been told
I trust you with my feelings
and in my heart, your words I'll take
until I'm grey and old
thank you.

Morning ~

As I sit here all alone admiring the view of an early sunrise
I tilt my head back and close my eyes.
A soft gentle breeze crosses my face
I look around and enjoy the quietness of God's peace and the soft gentle pace
The trees are in full bloom, the leaves ready to fall
God's beauty of earth, I admire it all.
As the sun comes up and begins a new day
I sit here quietly and begin to pray.
Dear God, I begin to say, please watch over my life and keep me safe
Give me hope and show me faith.
Guide my path and let me know you are near.
Allow me to be strong and filled with love, for love conquers all fear.
A gentle breeze crosses my path, and gives me a slight chill
God answers and says: I am with you still.
I've never left you alone, or threw you aside, I am in your heart, I will be your guide.
I will show you the way to master life's difficulties, and trust your heart,
For I am with you now and forever, I shall never part.
A gentle breeze I feel again, I know my prayers are answered, God has heard my plea.
He has pointed this out for me to see.
Life has many surprises each and every day. We cannot live on regrets and sorrow.
Once again I feel a gentle breeze which means God is saying:
My child there is a tomorrow:
The sun will shine once again, the birds will continue to sing.
Memories will last forever, and enjoy life a new today, and all that it may bring.

Jordan Moore

" I am Free "

"Don't mourn for me, I'm free
The struggle is finally finished
My spirit's free, my body's at rest
Yet I am not diminished
I've simply moved to that heavenly phase
Of God's almighty plan
Having completed the trials of life
In heaven's peace in where I stand
Untouched by the pain that assailed my body
Unaffected by the illness' rage
Grateful that the struggle is finally over
That I've moved beyond such a difficult stage
Now surrounded by my loved ones who've passed
Being joyfully reunited with them... "

Friends ....

Friends

How good to lie a little while
And look up through the tree!
The Sky is like a kind big smile
Bent sweetly over me.

The Sunshine flickers through the lace
Of leaves above my head,
And kisses me upon the face
Like Mother, before bed.

The Wind comes stealing o'er the grass
To whisper pretty things;
And though I cannot see him pass,
I feel his careful wings.

So many gentle Friends are near
Whom one can scarcely see,
A child should never feel a fear,
Wherever he may be.

Always ~

“I will love you always. When the smooth softness of youth is replaced by the delicate softness of age, I will still want to touch your skin. When your face is full of the lines of every smile you have ever smiled, of every surprise I have seen flash through your eyes, when every tear you have ever cried has left its mark upon your face,I will treasure you all the more. I will share your life with you, and I will love you until the last breath leaves your body or mine.”

Family ~

A Tribute To Family

I don't know when it started,
Or how it all began.
But God created families,
As only our Lord can.
He was teaching what it means,
To love, honor, and obey.
He wanted a strong bond,
That we don't see too much today.
He wanted someone to hold us,
And show respect for others.
He wanted someone who'd be gentle,
And so he created mothers.
He wanted someone strong,
A support filled with love.
And so he created fathers,
Sent from heaven up above.
Brothers and sisters came next,
With that, an instant friend.
Someone to look up to,
Someone on who to depend.
When he put them all together,
He was amazed at what he'd done.
He had created a family,
Mother, father, daughter, son.
But look at the family,
Created by only two.
How many we've become,
And all because of you.
We have a lot to be thankful for,
The memories through the years.
The many times together,
Full of laughter, full of tears.
I don't know where we'd be today,
If it weren't for the two of you.
To show us strength, support, and love,
Like only the two of you can do.

Melody ~

A maliscious melody,
A carnivorous carol,
A sociopathic symphony,
A horrific hym.

A lullaby so soft and sad,
A poisonous song swimming in my veins,
But this poison comes without pain,
Instead whisks away my agony.

The music begins with the pop of the lid.
Next the rattle of pills,
Falling into my palm by the dozen
And the chorus repeats.

I wash it down with a bottle of rum,
And wait for my song to lull me to sleep.
As I feel the lullaby drawing to an end,
I grin just a bit and whisper goodnight.

We Survive....

“For example, the wind has its reasons. We just don't notice as we go about our lives. But then, at some point, we are made to notice. The wind envelops you with a certain purpose in mind, and it rocks you. The wind knows everything that's inside you. And not just the wind. Everything, including a stone. They all know us very well. From top to bottom. It only occurs to us at certain times. And all we can do is go with those things. As we take them in, we survive, and deepen.”

I Feel Beautiful ....

I Feel Beautiful
I feel beautiful as I listen to the whispers of my heart, slow down, breathe deeply, savoring all of life.In this moment nothing else existsbut the beauty of everything, everywhere.
I feel beautiful when I understand my purpose,my desire to create, to serve, to do somethingfor me, for you, for all of humanity, for now, forever, empowered by the light that lies within us all.
I feel beautiful when I quiet my mind andas a peacemaker, I behold a compassionate visionfor millions and billions and trillionsstretching to infinity and limitless horizons.
I feel beautiful when we are connected heart-to-heart.I see your soul through the window of my eyes.I sense your joy, I see your delight, engulfed in the magnificence of now and always.
I feel beautiful when I reflect yourinherent beauty and goodnessand emerge with you into 'I Am'lost in the dance, experiencing the extraordinary, knowing that we never walk alone.

Come as you are to the bounty of love.We are in full blossom now, we are infinite.Deep into our souls we travel,A radical and social transformation, spinning together on our illusionary planet.
May we all feel beautiful.

Lilies....

Lilies by Mary Oliver
I have been thinking
about living
like the lilies
that blow in the fields.

They rise and fall
in the edge of the wind,
and have no shelter
from the tongues of the cattle,

and have no closets or cupboards,
and have no legs.
Still I would like to be
as wonderful

as the old idea.
But if I were a lily
I think I would wait all day
for the green face

of the hummingbird
to touch me.
What I mean is,
could I forget myself

even in those feathery fields?
When Van Gogh
preached to the poor
of coarse he wanted to save someone--

most of all himself.
He wasn't a lily,
and wandering through the bright fields
only gave him more ideas

it would take his life to solve.
I think I will always be lonely
in this world, where the cattle
graze like a black and white river--

where the vanishing lilies
melt, without protest, on their tongues--
where the hummingbird, whenever there is a fuss,
just rises and floats away.

Life ....

Life by Henry Van Dyke
Let me but live my life from year to year,
With forward face and unreluctant soul;
Not hurrying to, nor turning from the goal;
Not mourning for the things that disappear
In the dim past, nor holding back in fear
From what the future veils; but with a whole
And happy heart, that pays its toll
To Youth and Age, and travels on with cheer.

So let the way wind up the hill or down,
O'er rough or smooth, the journey will be joy:
Still seeking what I sought when but a boy,
New friendship, high adventure, and a crown,
My heart will keep the courage of the quest,
And hope the road's last turn will be the best.

Love is Enough

Love is enough by William Morris

LOVE is enough: though the World be a-waning,
And the woods have no voice but the voice of complaining,
Though the sky be too dark for dim eyes to discover
The gold-cups and daisies fair blooming thereunder,
Though the hills be held shadows, and the sea a dark wonder,
And this day draw a veil over all deeds pass'd over,
Yet their hands shall not tremble, their feet shall not falter;
The void shall not weary, the fear shall not alter
These lips and these eyes of the loved and the lover.

Beloved

I stood by your bed last night, I came to have a peep.I could see that you were crying, You found it hard to sleep.I whined to you softly as you brushed away a tear,"It's me, I haven't left you, I'm well, I'm fine, I'm here."I was close to you at breakfast, I watched you pour the tea,You were thinking of the many times, your hands reached down to me.I was with you at the shops today, Your arms were getting sore.I longed to take your parcels, I wish I could do more.I was with you at my grave today, You tend it with such care.I want to reassure you, that I'm not lying there.I walked with you towards the house, as you fumbled for your key.I gently put my paw on you, I smiled and said "It's me."You looked so very tired, and sank into a chair.I tried so hard to let you know, that I was standing there. It's possible for me to be so near you everyday. To say to you with certainty, "I never went away."You sat there very quietly, then smiled, I think you knew ... In the stillness of that evening, I was very close to you.The day is over... I smile and watch you yawning and say"Goodnight, God bless, I'll see you in the morning."And when the time is right for you to cross the brief divide,I'll rush across to greet you and we'll stand, side by side.I have so many things to show you, there is so much for you to see.Be patient, live your journey out ... then come home to be with me.

To My Husband ~

If ever two were one, then surely we.
If ever man were loved by wife, then thee.
If ever wife was happy in a man,
Compare with me, ye women, if you can.
I prize thy love more than whole mines of gold,
Or all the riches that the East doth hold.
My love is such that rivers cannot quench,
Nor ought but love from thee give recompense.
Thy love is such I can no way repay;
The heavens reward thee manifold, I pray.
Then while we live, in love let’s so persever,
That when we live no more, we may live ever.

Brightly ....

“speak quietly to yourself & promise there will be better days. whisper gently to yourself and provide assurance that you really are extending your best effort. console your bruised and tender spirit with reminders of many other successes. offer comfort in practical and tangible ways - as if you were encouraging your dearest friend. recognize that on certain days the greatest grace is that the day is over and you get to close your eyes. tomorrow comes more brightly...” ― Mary Anne Radmacher

Love You Always ~

Loving You Always
A few words to express,
the love that I feel.
Loving you always,
is beautifully real.
I love you each morning,
from my dreams when I wake.
Sweet morning kisses,
I get excited to make.
I love you at lunchtime,
when my hungry soul craves.
Each moment with you,
my mind passionately saves.
I love you each evening,
when my body shall tire.
Just thinking of you,
my heart feels the fire.
I love you at night,
when the world is asleep.
This love that I feel,
is eternally deep.
Loving you always,
from morning till night.
Brings joy to my life,
and lots of delight.

Glory ~

There are no words to say how much I love you:
Half my love might fit into a song.
In times of prayer I look for you to hold,
Reaching for you more as I grow old,
Taking, as I gave when I was strong.
Years have turned the tides of Being towards you.

Now my hopes are reconfigured for you:
In me there's no bright dream for which I long,
Nor measure of my pride as I behold
Each day the grace your childhood foretold.

Shine ~

Shine
Life is something we all share,
Just like oxygen, in the air.
The way we live it, is up to us,
With a negative or with a plus.
Life is something, we should cherish,
We never know, when we'll perish.
Live each and every single day,
Smell the flowers, stop and play.
Life is something, we've been blessed,
Choice is yours, choose your quest.
Follow your passions, and you'll be fine,
With the right attitude, you will shine.

In Disguise ~

What if your blessings come through rain drops, What if Your healing comes through tears, What if a thousand sleepless nights are what it takes to know You're near .... What if my greatest disappointments or the aching of this life, Is the revealing of a greater thirst this world can't satisfy, What if trials of this life, The rain, the storms, the hardest nights, Are your mercies in disguise...

Solitude ~

Love your solitude. For those who are near you are far away , this shows that the space around you is beginning to grow vast, be happy about your growth, of course you can't take anyone with you, and be gentle with those who stay behind; be confident in front of them and don't torment them. Seek out true feeling of what you have in common when you see them. But believe in a love that is stored up for you like an inheritance, have faith there is a blessing that you can travel as you wish.

Brings God ~

“There is no power like that of prevailing prayer - of Abraham pleading for Sodom, Jacob wrestling in the stillness of the night, Moses standing in the breach, Hannah intoxicated with sorrow, David heartbroken with remorse and grief, Jesus in sweat and blood. Add to this list from the records of the church your personal observation and experience, and always there is cost of passion unto blood. Such prayer prevails It brings power. It brings fire. It brings rain. It brings life. It brings God.”

...Hello

“ -Hello, you who make the morning and spread it over the fields and into the faces of the tulips and the nodding morning glories, and into the windows of, even, the miserable and the crotchety ,best preacher that ever was, dear star, that just happens to be where you are in the universe to keep us from ever-darkness, to ease us with warm touching, to hold us in the great hands of light-good morning, good morning, good morning. Watch, now, how I start the day in happiness, in kindness.”

From My Heart ~

From My Heart

A million stars up in the sky
one shines brighter I can't deny
A love so precious a love so true
a love that comes from me to you
The angels sing when you are near
within your arms I have nothing to fear
You always know just what to say
just talking to you makes my day
I love you honey with all of my heart
together forever and never to part.

It's Glow ~

I’ve seen the light
And it’s in you,
In everything you are
And in everything you do.
It’s a perfect light
That shines for all to see.
It radiates from you
And has pierced the heart of me.
The light is from a friend.
It’s a light that keeps me warm.
It lets me know how loved I am,
And keeps me safe from harm.
To you my friend I am thankful,
In each and every way.
For you lift my spirits up,
With every passing day.
To know that you are there for me,
It makes me feel alive.
Because it is your friendship’s light,
Upon which my love thrives.
Thank you isn’t good enough,
But they’re the only words I know.
It is your light of friendship,
That gives my world it’s glow.

The Journey ~

The journey to a new you

Stuck in between what was, what is and what may come to be
How does one discover what is their true journey?

God will come into your life and remind you of your past
God will come into your life when you feel you're on your last
Alone, stressed, depressed or suffering from spiritual amnesia too
God will come into your life and lead you to a new you

The journey through life had the ability to knock and wear you down
The journey may also cause you to hesitate, halter, falter or frown
But God will give you a clear view of all that you've gone through
So that you can now comprehend what He wants you to do

You need to revisit the pain and hurt from long ago
You need to face up to your past and then from it grow
Don't allow others to mitigate and minimize your past
Ignore the choir of critics who tell you you're acting like an ass
And hold those accountable for their bads acts as well
As it's your story, your song, your narrative to tell

Never forget how God has always had your back
When you were constantly under pressure and under attack
Never forget how God had always walked by your side
And those times you only saw one set of footprints on His back you did ride
You're not journeyong to God for God is journeying with you
He has always been there, omnipresent and sure-footed too
Journeying with God from here to eternity
Journeying with God towards your true destiny

To journey to a new you, you need to understand
What was, what is and what is coming is all God's plan
No longer are you lost, no longer will you be stressed
For God is still at work and it's you He wants to bless
So don't run from your past wipe away your tears and get up
God is offering you a new you and a full spiritual cup

So journey through your past and facing it head on
Journey through your past looking towards your horizon
Journeying with God so that you can clearly see
The new you that the Lord God desires you to be

First Time I Saw Your Face ~

The first time ever I saw your face
I thought the sun rose in your eyes
And the moon and the stars were the gifts you gave
To the dark and the endless skies my love
To the dark and the endless skies
The first time ever I kissed your mouth
I felt the earth move in my hand
Like the trembling heart of a captive bird
That was there at my command my love
That was there at my command my love
And the first time ever I lay with you
I felt your heart so close to mine
And I knew our joy would fill the earth
And last 'till the end of time my love
And it would last 'till the end of time
The first time ever I saw your face
Your face, your face

" Adieu "

I knew not ’twas so dire a crime
To say the word, “Adieu;”
But this shall be the only time
My lips or heart shall sue.
That wild hill-side, the winter morn,
The gnarled and ancient tree,
If in your breast they waken scorn,
Shall wake the same in me.
I can forget black eyes and brows,
And lips of falsest charm,
If you forget the sacred vows
Those faithless lips could form.
If hard commands can tame your love,
Or strongest walls can hold,
I would not wish to grieve above
A thing so false and cold.
And there are bosoms bound to mine
With links both tried and strong:
And there are eyes whose lightning shine
Has warmed and blest me long:
Those eyes shall make my only day,
Shall set my spirit free,
And chase the foolish thoughts away
That mourn your memory.

Forever - I

Forever, I

I'd move mountains to be by your side,
bare the worst of the weather,
just to look in your eyes.

I'd cross the largest oceans,
the stormiest seas,
a smile from you, makes me weak at the knees.

I'll be your strength, when you are weak,
I'll be your friend when you are sad,
I'll be all the things you've wanted and wished you always had.

I'll believe in you for eternity,
I'll stay with you till the end,
I'll take the stars from the sky,
which you can forever lend.

One day I'll finally have to go,
just know I'll still be there,
when the sun shines down from heaven,
to show I'll always care.

When Tomorrow Starts Without Me ~

WHEN TOMORROW STARTS WITHOUT ME
When tomorrow starts without me and I’m not there to see; If the sun should rise and find  your eyes are filled with tears for me; I wish so much you wouldn’t cry the way you did today; While thinking of the many things we didn’t get to say, I know how much you love me, As much as I love you; And each time that you think of me, I know you’ll miss me too;
But when tomorrow starts without me please try to understand, That an angel came and called my name, and took me by the hand, And said my place was ready, in heaven far above; And that I would have to leave behind all those I dearly love. When I walked thru Heavens gates I felt so much at home; When God looked down and smiled from His great golden Throne; He said: “This is eternity, and all I’ve  promised you; Today your life on earth is past, but here it starts anew; There is no past or future here, but one eternal NOW, For in My presence, precious child, this day will always last.”
So when tomorrow starts without me don’t think we’re far apart For every time you think of me, I’m right there near you heart; And I knowing now as God knows me; will joyfully watch you serving Him, Till we are joined together in this wonderful place called Eternity!!

Trees

“For me, trees have always been the most penetrating preachers. I revere them when they live in tribes and families, in forests and groves. And even more I revere them when they stand alone. They are like lonely persons. Not like hermits who have stolen away out of some weakness, but like great, solitary men, like Beethoven and Nietzsche. In their highest boughs the world rustles, their roots rest in infinity; but they do not lose themselves there, they struggle with all the force of their lives for one thing only: to fulfil themselves according to their own laws, to build up their own form, to represent themselves. Nothing is holier, nothing is more exemplary than a beautiful, strong tree. When a tree is cut down and reveals its naked death-wound to the sun, one can read its whole history in the luminous, inscribed disk of its trunk: in the rings of its years, its scars, all the struggle, all the suffering, all the sickness, all the happiness and prosperity stand truly written, the narrow years and the luxurious years, the attacks withstood, the storms endured. And every young farmboy knows that the hardest and noblest wood has the narrowest rings, that high on the mountains and in continuing danger the most indestructible, the strongest, the ideal trees grow.

Trees are sanctuaries. Whoever knows how to speak to them, whoever knows how to listen to them, can learn the truth. They do not preach learning and precepts, they preach, undeterred by particulars, the ancient law of life.

A tree says: A kernel is hidden in me, a spark, a thought, I am life from eternal life. The attempt and the risk that the eternal mother took with me is unique, unique the form and veins of my skin, unique the smallest play of leaves in my branches and the smallest scar on my bark. I was made to form and reveal the eternal in my smallest special detail.

A tree says: My strength is trust. I know nothing about my fathers, I know nothing about the thousand children that every year spring out of me. I live out the secret of my seed to the very end, and I care for nothing else. I trust that God is in me. I trust that my labor is holy. Out of this trust I live.

When we are stricken and cannot bear our lives any longer, then a tree has something to say to us: Be still! Be still! Look at me! Life is not easy, life is not difficult. Those are childish thoughts. Let God speak within you, and your thoughts will grow silent. You are anxious because your path leads away from mother and home. But every step and every day lead you back again to the mother. Home is neither here nor there. Home is within you, or home is nowhere at all.

A longing to wander tears my heart when I hear trees rustling in the wind at evening. If one listens to them silently for a long time, this longing reveals its kernel, its meaning. It is not so much a matter of escaping from one's suffering, though it may seem to be so. It is a longing for home, for a memory of the mother, for new metaphors for life. It leads home. Every path leads homeward, every step is birth, every step is death, every grave is mother.

So the tree rustles in the evening, when we stand uneasy before our own childish thoughts: Trees have long thoughts, long-breathing and restful, just as they have longer lives than ours. They are wiser than we are, as long as we do not listen to them. But when we have learned how to listen to trees, then the brevity and the quickness and the childlike hastiness of our thoughts achieve an incomparable joy. Whoever has learned how to listen to trees no longer wants to be a tree. He wants to be nothing except what he is. That is home. That is happiness.”
Hermann Hesse, Bäume. Betrachtungen und Gedichte

Come To Me ~

“But when ye come, and all the flowers are dying,
If I am dead, as dead I well may be,
You'll come and find the place where I am lying,
And kneel and say Ave there for me,
And I shall hear, though soft you tread above me,
And all my grave will warmer, sweeter be,
For you will bend and tell me that you love me,
And I shall sleep in peace until you come to me”
Frederick Weatherly

Space

“there is a place in the heart that
will never be filleda space
and even during the
best moments
and
the greatest times
times
we will know it
we will know it
more than
ever
there is a place in the heart that
will never be filled
and
we will wait
and
wait
in that space.”
Charles Bukowski

Limited ~

“It is a curious thing, the death of a loved one. We all know that our time in this world is limited, and that eventually all of us will end up underneath some sheet, never to wake up. And yet it is always a surprise when it happens to someone we know. It is like walking up the stairs to your bedroom in the dark, and thinking there is one more stair than there is. Your foot falls down, through the air, and there is a sickly moment of dark surprise as you try and readjust the way you thought of things.”

Flakes ~

“They dropped like flakes, they dropped like stars,
Like petals from a rose,
When suddenly across the lune
A wind with fingers goes.

They perished in the seamless grass,
No eye could find the place;
But God on his repealless list
Can summon every face”
Emily Dickinson

Falling Star ~

“Watching a peaceful death of a human being reminds us of a falling star; one of a million lights in a vast sky that flares up for a brief moment only to disappear into the endless night forever.”
― Elisabeth Kübler-Ross

No Regrets ~

Death will paint everything a different shade of remorse.

You’ll feel guilty that you’re still breathing.
But you can’t stop.
You’ll feel guilty for wanting to laugh again.
And it will be awful the first time that you do.
You’ll feel guilty for just about everything at first.
And someday, at some point, you’ll start to feel guilty . . .
for forgetting to feel guilty.

But of all Heaven’s lessons, guilt isn’t one of them. You don’t need to hold on to it. It doesn’t need to be a practice and it shouldn’t be your life.

Heaven would never approve of your guilt.
Because Heaven has no regrets.”
Tessa Shaffer, Heaven Has No Regrets

Circle ~

“Life is an endless circle within God. From before birth to beyond the transition called death, I am filled with life. My soul wears this earth garment I call my body, which I cherish and care for. When I finally lay it down, my soul continues to live, always in God’s care and keeping.”
