Elul II
The sixth month on the Jewish calendar is “Elul”. During this month, you should be aware that the Lord is examining your life to see where you have held Him in disrespect. It is your responsibility to discover, in partnership with God, any sinful behavior in your life and repent for that activity; remembering that as you walk in a spirit of contrition and holiness, you are defeating satan! Historically, this is the month of personal examination of one’s thoughts or feelings as well as remembering and repenting for transgressions. The month of Elul is considered a season of divine grace. Allow the Holy Spirit to direct you to repent for anything you have done secretly or openly. Find your place in the camps or ministries of the Lord. There is more to Elul than preparation alone; it is also a time of giving and prayer. This is the month to pray like you’ve never prayed before. So pray continually, asking the Lord for divine assistance and insight - don’t let the enemy steal your time, take it back in the name of Jesus! It is important to know that during this month, rewards will manifest because of what you’ve done in the Spirit realm. The purpose of this month is to bring you into the presence of the Lord by renewing your relationship with Him . Let nothing rob you of that privilege , in Jesus’ Name!
Elul ~
Love. It is the most powerful of the human emotions. We all crave it. We cannot live without it. And yet, it is so overwhelming, so all encompassing, that there is no way to measure it, prove it, define it or even describe it .
When we speak of the intellect, it is represented by the mind. And when we speak of the emotions, specifically of love, they are represented by the heart.
The month that we are now in, Elul, is the key to unlocking the inner and most potent meaning of the heart. As is well known, the Hebrew letters that make the word “Elul,” an aleph, lamed, vav and lamed, are an acronym for the phrase (from the biblical Song of Songs): Ani L’dodi V’dodi Li, which means, “I am to my beloved and my beloved is to me.
This beautiful and romantic phrase is that which represents our relationship with our Creator, which is often paralleled to that of a husband and wife, a bride and groom, in our individual lives.
The Zohar explains that at the beginning of Elul we are achor el achor meaning “back to back” and by the end of Elul we are panim el panim meaning “face to face.” But how can it be that we are back to back? Wouldn’t that imply that G-d has His back turned to us as well? How can we say such a thing when this is the month in which--as Chassidic master Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi teaches us-- "the King is in the field"?
It is the month of Elul that teaches us the necessity of being willing to turn around. The King is in the field, our Creator is there, and no matter how we may feel, He has never had His back turned. All we need to do is turn ourselves around to realize that He is there and waiting for us. The “back to back” that we experience in the beginning of the month is based on our misperceptions, our fears, our assumptions. Only when we turn around do we realize the truth, the inner essence, and then we are “face to face” which does not only mean that we can finally look at each other .
So now the question is how this lesson is taught to us, not only in the month of Elul, but through the name “Elul” itself. A Hebrew name is not a mere way of referring to something, but actually represents its soul. Chassidut teaches that every parent is gifted with Divine Inspiration is when he or she names a child. It is the name that represents the deepest aspects of this person. Kabbalah and Chassidut teach us that to uncover the essential meaning of a Hebrew word we need to analyze the letters that comprise it, their numerical value, their form and their minds ..
So now we must answer how all of this is related to the heart. Here is where our lameds are once again defined. At this point it is important to think again about the symbol of the heart and to question its origin. And so it should come as no surprise that the meaning of this symbol will once again be found in the word for heart itself.
But it is not enough to have two lameds. As Rabbi Yitzchak Ginsburgh explains, in order for their to be a relationship, the two lameds need to be connected. They need to be face to face. When we turn around the second lamed to face the first, we form the image of the Jewish Heart (as seen in the picture at the beginning of this article). While the heart, as we are used to seeing it, is quite clear in this form, an entirely new part of the heart is also revealed.
The heart and the love it represents, can only thrive, can only flourish, when there is a totality in connection. This is because the letter lamed is the tallest of all the letters in the Hebrew alphabet. The reason is because the lamed represents the concept of breaking out of boundaries, of going beyond your potential, of entering the superconscious from the conscious.
The lamed also means two things simultaneously. It means both “to learn” and “to teach” which shows us that the two are intertwined and both are essential. In a relationship, I must be willing to learn from the other, thereby making myself a receiver. Yet the other person also must be able to learn from me, which then makes me the teacher, the giver.
The next letter in Elul is a vav. In Hebrew, the vav serves as a conjuctive "and." As a word vav means “hook” and in its form it looks like a hook. So in this case the vav is the hook which is connecting the yud, the mind, with the bottom letter, the chaf, which represents the body. Physically speaking it symbolizes the neck which transports the flow of blood from the brain to the heart .
This teaches us that the heart, that the love that it represents, can only thrive, can only flourish, when there is a totality in connection. The Jewish heart, true love, represents a mind to mind, face to face, eye to eye, body to body, soul to soul connection. The vav, the connection between the head and the heart must always stay healthy with a clear flow. If anything cuts it off, the relationship cannot continue. As we all know, one of the quickest ways to kill a person is a slit right across the neck. The neck is our lifeline. It ensures that our head, our intellect, rules above our emotions and that there is a healthy interchange between the mind and the heart .
The heart that we are all familiar with, the symbol that represents love throughout the world, lacks the yud and the vav, it is missing the mind and the neck. The popular symbol represents only the physical connection between bodies .
So this is why and how Elul is the month that begins back to back and ends face to face. At the beginning of the month we are unaware of the reality that “I am to my beloved and my beloved is to me.” However, by working on ourselves during this month, by being willing to turn around and make changes, we come to realize that our Creator has never had His back turned. He has always been facing us and just waiting for us to turn around. And once we do, we are then like two lameds that are face to face, which form the Jewish heart and is the essence of the month of Elul.
And the Jewish heart, this idea of love as a totality of connection, is not merely the work for the month of Elul but is the entire purpose of our creation. This Jewish heart is a symbol for why we were created and what we are meant to accomplish. For the Torah is the blueprint of creation and the guidebook of how we connect to the Divine. And it is not a book that has a beginning, middle and end, but rather a scroll, since we are taught that the “end is endwedged in the beginning, and the beginning in the end.”
So what do we find when the Torah scroll’s end rolls into the beginning? How does the Torah end and begin? The last word of the Torah is "Yisrael," Israel, which ends with the letter lamed and the first word is "bereishit," meaning “in the beginning” which begins with a beit. When we join the first and last letters of the Torah, we have lev, the Hebrew word for heart.
May we be blessed with the ability to tap into the powers of the month of Elul, recognize and reveal our ability to both learn and teach, and through that, come face to face within ourselves, with our loved ones, and with our Maker !

How can we say such a thing when this is the month in which--as Chassidic master Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi teaches us-- "the King is in the field"?
The fact that we are described as back to back and then face to face is an incredible lesson. Often, when we feel angry, hurt, abandoned, whatever the root of our pain may be, we turn our back. When our back is turned, we have no idea of the state of the other. And it is often easier to believe that we are not the only one with a turned back. It is easier to think the other also turned around, that the other isn’t facing us at all, because if that is the case, then even if we turn around it won’t help, so why bother. Why make that first move only to turn around and see the back of the other .
But this rationalization is the cause of many unsettled arguments, hurt feelings, and broken relationships. It is the month of Elul that teaches us the necessity of being willing to turn around. The King is in the field, our Creator is there, and no matter how we may feel, He has never had His back turned. Forgiveness ~
Nearly everyone has been hurt by the actions or words of another. These wounds can leave you with lasting feelings of anger, bitterness and even vengeance — but if you don't practice forgiveness, you may be the one who pays most dearly. By embracing forgiveness, you embrace peace, hope, gratitude and joy.
Generally, forgiveness is a decision to let go of resentment and thoughts of revenge. The act that hurt or offended you may always remain a part of your life, but forgiveness can lessen its grip on you and help you focus on other, positive parts of your life. Forgiveness can even lead to feelings of understanding, empathy and compassion for the one who hurt you.
Forgiveness doesn't mean that you deny the other person's responsibility for hurting you, and it doesn't minimize or justify the wrong. You can forgive the person without excusing the act. Forgiveness brings a kind of peace that helps you go on with life.
To place a situation in the hands of God for me is to forgive . There is something to learn from everything and our family is still learning . ~

I Knew I loved you before I knew YOU ~
I Knew I Loved You :
It guided me here
It knew you'd be here
Now wrapped in moonlight
At last together
Here in the incandescent glow
We are all we need to know
'Til the stars and shadow glow
And we sleep
With our dreams around us.
I knew I loved you
Before I found you
I knew I'd built my world around you
Now all my days
And all my night
And my tomorrows
Will all begin
And end
With you...
I knew I loved you
Before I knew YOU The hands of time
Would lead me to youAn evening star
Was from afar .It guided me here
It knew you'd be here
Now wrapped in moonlight
At last together
Here in the incandescent glow
We are all we need to know
'Til the stars and shadow glow
And we sleep
With our dreams around us.
It guided me
It knew you'd be hereI knew I loved you
Before I found you
I knew I'd built my world around you
Now all my days
And all my night
And my tomorrows
Will all begin
And end
With you...

Youthberry White Tea ~
I love Youthhberry White Tea ! The UPS man just rang my doorbell with my Teavana package . YEAH ! So , I am going to feast on my tea today . This morning I had wrote a blog talking about my little detox program , but this beautiful wrapped package from Teavana came and with it ; new motivation and hope . I am Thankful ! White tea is made from immature tea leaves that are picked shortly before the buds have fully opened. The tea takes its name from the silver fuzz that still covers the buds, which turns white when the tea is dried. The exact proportion of buds to leaves varies depending on the variety of white tea. For example, White Peony contains one bud for every two leaves, while Silver Needles, the crème de la crème of white teas, is made entirely from downy buds picked within a two day period in early Spring !
Of course, an exotic appearance alone doesn’t explain white tea’s sudden surge in popularity. The secret lies in what happens after the buds are plucked. Tea leaves destined to be sold as white tea undergo even less processing than green tea leaves. Instead of air-drying, the unwithered leaves are merely steamed.
A pale tea with a sweet, silky flavor. People who have tried both note that white tea lacks the “grassy” aftertaste so often associated with green tea. Furthermore, studies indicate that white tea is better for you. Leaving tea leaves so close to their natural state means that white tea contains more polyphenols, the powerful anti-oxidant that fights and kills cancer-causing cells, than any other type of tea.
Of course, nothing in life is perfect. Expect to pay more for white tea than other tea types - up to $35 for a 2-ounce tin (30 to 40 cups) of Silver Needles. And, while many tea shops are starting to carry white tea, shopping online is still your best bet for the more upscale varieties. I am downright hooked on white tea !

My Flor - Essence and all of my supplement sit downstairs on the kitchen table . I'm avoiding the kitchen all together this morning , except for a cup of coffee and a cookie ....lol . On a positive note I am reading " Women , Food and God " right now . Great book , Geneen Roth's say that what the body really wants is to be nourished . I guess the sugar and carbohydrates isn't doing the job .......

Touched ~
Touched by An Angel by Maya Angelou
We, unaccustomed to courage
from delight
live coiled in shells of loneliness
until love leaves its high holy temple
and comes into our sight
to liberate us into life.
Love arrives
and in its train come ecstasies
old memories of pleasure
ancient histories of pain.
Yet if we are bold,
love strikes away the chains of fear
from our ouls.
We are weaned from our timidity
In the flush of love's light
we dare be brave
And suddenly we see
will ever be.
that love costs all we are
and
Yet it is only love
which sets us free.
We, unaccustomed to courage
from delight
live coiled in shells of loneliness
until love leaves its high holy temple
and comes into our sight
to liberate us into life.

I Will ~ ~
There are people in this world that would die for me.
There are people in this world I would die for.
The truth will set me free. I will never lie.
People are not mind readers. I must never hesitate to tell someone how I feel.
Mistakes happen. I must learn from my mistakes and the mistakes of others.
Life is short and people are not perfect. I will forgive myself. I will forgive others.
My smile brings happiness to the world around me.
There is nobody else exactly like me, with my exact abilities, talents, and ideas.
I can help myself by helping those around me first.
The people I care about deserve to know it. I will show them how much they mean to me on a regular basis.
I will accept compliments and criticism openly and make educated decisions based on a weighted sum of the two.
Information is infinite. There are ideas, products and cultures I do not yet understand. I will always keep an open mind to new formulas.
Education involves self-imposed discipline. I can only learn if I want to learn. I want to learn.
I will treat everyone with the same level of respect I would give to my grandfather and the same level of patience I would have with my baby brother.
I am what I eat. My body is a machine that must be fueled properly if I intend to make it last.
I will think before I act, but I will always act.
I will try new things for the sake of broadening my horizons.
I will never be reckless with another person’s feelings.
I will never let someone persist on being reckless with my feelings.
I will celebrate my successes. I deserve it.
Money will only make my life easier if it is mine free and clear.
If I wake up several mornings in a row and hate what I am about to do with my day, I will make a change. Life is too short.
I will never be jealous. Jealously only deteriorates possibility.
My attitude can change my reality.
If I want to remember it, I will write it down in a trusted location.
I will never spend more than I have.
I will thank the people who have helped me, and I will return the favor as soon as I am able.
I will never succumb to greed. Enough is enough.
Time is precious. I will manage my time effectively.
Right now is the only guaranteed moment in my life. I will make the best of it.
I will stand firm by my values without senselessly promoting them.
I will never over-promise. I will over-deliver on everything I commit to.
I will always assess the situation and provide value where needed.
I cannot make someone love me. I can only be someone who can be loved.
I will always strive to be the best I can be, but I will never try to be someone I’m not.
I will always articulate my words so people understand me.
I will slow down and become conscious of life’s simple pleasures.
Everything I do is by choice. There is always another option.
I will be glad that I wake up each morning .
If I never try, I will never know.
I will face my fears. I will not cower.
My habits define my life.
I will always take ownership of my actions, or my actions will own me.
I will never make decisions in a state of emotional haste.
I will always be Thankful .
I will give to the poor .
I will say I'm sorry often .
I will say No sometimes .
I will read .
I will Praise God each day of my life .
There are people in this world I would die for.

I am in competition with one person, and one person only… myself. I am competing to be the best I can be.
True wisdom is the byproduct of life experience. I will seek as many real world experiences as possible. Education involves self-imposed discipline. I can only learn if I want to learn. I want to learn.

I will never be reckless with another person’s feelings.

The three most important things in my life are my health, my family and friends, and my education. Everything else is secondary.
I will pray each day .I will celebrate my successes. I deserve it.

Saying NO ~
" No can be a beautiful word , every bit as beautiful as "yes " . I refuse to be mute ! When you push past limits , there's a good chance of being hurt or used . I've had some hard painful lessons to learn again . Saying "no " can be right . I refuse to let old habits that takes our energy and robs us of our inner joy . I can't always say yes ! ....just to be distracted from our purpose . I believe women are pushed to the outer edge of always giving , but we feel like we are coming up empty inside . Watching my own Mother say " NO " ....at her age of 72 , is giving me the courage to set my own boundaries ! Speaking the language of no is a good place to be .~
The Genius Of Happiness ~
The genius of happiness is still so rare , is indeed on the whole the rarest genius . To possess it means to approach life with the humility of a beggar , but to treat it with the proud generosity of a prince ; to bring to its totality the deep understanding of a great poet and to each of it's moments the abandonment and ingenuousness of a child . - Ellen Key
In Memory of Liam Christopher Martin Jessee
Mothers arms are not meant to be empty
I look up at the sky, tears filling my eyes,
Searching the stars trying to find my angel
The brightest star I search for
Finding it the first tear rolls down my cheek
Memories flood back of our short time together
Love totally encasing my heart as I look at that star
I know you are there baby I will never forget
I just can’t come to accept as I look that you are so farI would have cuddled and loved you kept you safe
Within my arms holding you in a tight embrace
I will search these skies for you each night
But just for now have to leave you in Gods guiding light
Sleep well my baby one day my arms and heart will be full again
This is what Marlie means to me ~
She has no idea how much happiness she truly brings.
She brightens up my days with her smiles and her laughs
She helps me to remember all the blessings that I have.
Her face, it is so perfect, she's sweet and soft and pure
Sometimes she can be willful and sometimes she is demure.
She tries her very hardest to please and do what's right.
She gives the greatest hugs from morning until night.
Every person that has known her sees this light within her soul
I know that in this whole great world, she has a special role.
She's helpful and considerate to everyone she knows
This light in her shines brighter as my angel grows.
When she sees someone is sad, it opens up her heart.
She wants to do all that she can; she wants to do her part.
She'll squeeze away the sorrow and make me forget about my pain
She shows me where the sun is when we're hiding from the rain.
I know that God must love me, He showed me with His Grace
And in that very moment when she came into my world,
She would be my sunshine, with a sweetness that won't end.
And when she grows up one day she would be my closest friend
When God entrusts to you an angel, who has left her wings for you.
Encircle her with love with everything you do.
Let her know God made her, and that He trusts you with her care.
Be sure to make time for special moments with her to share
I Thank Him for my angel, and ask for him to always keep
A watchful eye and hand to protect her from this world.I am so Thankful God gave us YOU ~
I am so proud of YOU ~
My Beautiful Niece ~
You are a special niece to me.
It has been a blessing for me to see
you grow up to be the person
who you were supposed to be.
The angels must have lent you their gloves, so you could create those wonderful things that fills your home with beauty and love.
You should share your talents for others to see.
The angels will be as happy as they can be,
that you used their gloves to make pretty things,to make people so happy they want to sing.
By sharing your gifts that shows your creative touch,
ohers will thank the angels from above
that you helped them fill their homes with beauty and love ! Kaitlyn I love you ~
